New Yorkers do NOT have a right to clean air or clean water. Communities across our state—from Buffalo to the North Country, to Hoosick Falls to Long Island—are suffering environmental crisis without the protections afforded by a right to a healthy environment. But that can all change by adding 15 simple words to the New York State Constitution:
“Each person shall have a right to clean air and water, and a healthful environment.”
Urge your Senator today to amend the State Constitution to guarantee New Yorkers have a right to air that is safe to breathe and water that is safe to drink!
