On Monday, April 16th, the Minnesota House of Representatives passed HF 2887 that could prevent the Department of Agriculture from implementing their proposed Groundwater Protection Measures created to protect drinking water by limiting the use of nitrogen fertilizer on certain farm fields.
Testing found that 537 public water supply wells across Minnesota had elevated levels of nitrates. This has left communities across our state looking for ways to protect their drinking water for their schools, businesses, and residents.
