Tell Congress: End the ban on gun violence research

Gun violence is a leading cause of child death in our country.

Yet, since 1996, the CDC and other federal agencies have been effectively prevented from studying gun violence due to a provision called the Dickey Amendment (a position which its namesake, Rep. Dickey, has since recanted).

A bill in Congress would allow these agencies to restart their research into the causes, effects, and evidence-based options for gun violence prevention in our communities. As nurses, we know how critical this kind of data collection and research is – and how many lives it could save.

Will you add your support and ask your Representative to sign on to this legislation now?

We know that personalized letters have an even greater impact – please consider adding your own words about why gun violence research matters to you in the space provided.
