Louisiana’s legal system has been broken for far too long. We consistently rank in the top ten on the American Tort Reform Foundation’s annual “Judicial Hellholes” list, including number four last year. And all because our lawmakers have failed to pass the legal reform we so desperately need.
Our legal climate is a burden on all Louisianans. It costs taxpayers thousands of dollars, takes away countless jobs and threatens our local businesses. Louisianans are tired of accepting this as the status quo.
By curbing lawsuit abuse, we can attract new economic opportunities to our state and expand our existing business and industry base. We urge our legislators and Governor Edwards to listen to their constituents and support the meaningful legal reform that is long overdue in Louisiana.
