Support Efforts to End Hunger

The Global Food Security Reauthorization Act was recently introduced in both the House and the Senate with strong bipartisan support. Passing this bill, a reauthorization of the Global Food Security Act, will ensure that U.S. efforts to combat global hunger and poverty continue for the next three to five years.

In 2016, the Global Food Security Act (GFSA) was signed into law with immense bipartisan support. GFSA has produced significant results in the work to end global hunger and poverty, supporting small-scale farmers and producers engaging in sustainable agricultural development, fostering better nutrition and resource management, and providing safety nets for the most vulnerable food insecure populations.

As Christians, we value all life, reflecting on the God-given dignity of each person. We remember Scripture’s repeated calls to care for people in poverty, to feed the hungry, and to work for shalom.

Ask your members of Congress to co-sponsor the Global Food Security Reauthorization Act!

Sample script: My name is [X] and I am a constituent from [City/Town]. My zip code is [X]. As a Christian, I’m calling to ask that my member of Congress oppose spending increases that would separate families and greatly increase immigrant detention. I also ask the Senator/Representative to oppose Rep. Goodlatte's bill, the Securing America's Future Act, which would cut family-based immigration and leave Dreamers in temporary status. I urge the Senator/Representative to pass the Dream Act. Thank you.
