Rising sea levels. Raging storms. Searing heat. Ferocious fires. Severe drought. Punishing floods. The effects of climate change are already threatening our health, our communities, our economy, our security, and our children’s future.
97% of climate scientists agree that climate change is real, man-made, and a threat to our national security- but many people still think it’s a hoax, wasting crucial time to combat the problem.
There are lots of different ways you can take action. Take a few minutes to contact your political representatives to tell them you want immediate action on climate change. Remind them that reducing greenhouse gas emissions by investing in sustainable energy technologies will build healthier communities, spur economic innovation, and create new jobs.
Things we can all do while we are waiting for our political representatives to take action:
Use only LED bulbs.
Invest in energy-efficient appliances.
Adjust your washing machine settings, and clean the dryer lint filter after each cycle.
Use email more than traditional mail.
Use less water.
Install Solar Panels
Plant trees and flowers
Drive a fuel-efficient car or ride a bike to work when possible.
Bring your own cup or water bottle.
