JoI, we are so incredibly proud of you and all of your accomplishments with Stand, on the court, off the court, in the classroom, and in the community. EBR is better off for having raised you and we know you will do wonderful things in the future.
Since joining Stand in 2018, JoI has been a powerful voice for students, organizing her peers to speak up and share their vision for their district and community. JoI was captain of her high school basketball team, student body president, a multi-year member of the Student Government, interviewed by print media regarding school closures during the pandemic, testified at school board meetings countless times, and is a member of the National Honor Society.
JoI graduated salutatorian from Istrouma High School in 2021. She will attend Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama on a full presidential academic scholarship. JoI plans to study political science + criminal justice, go to law school, and become a district attorney.
