Vote in Favor of Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act!

Sponsored by Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.Car.), this bill would prohibit late abortion on unborn babies after 20 weeks gestation/22 weeks of development, a stage that is also recognized as the threshold at which the baby can feel pain.

Several studies reveal that babies in their mid-second trimester respond to invasive procedures performed at 18-20 weeks with an elevated heart rate and secretion of stress hormones. Additionally, studies have shown that these late-term abortions pose significant risks to maternal health.

This bill should also receive bi-partisan support, given than more than three quarters of Americans would limit abortion to — at most — the first three months of pregnancy, according to a new Marist Poll. This is consistent polling data for over a decade.
