The Nurture Originals, Foster Art, and Keep Entertainment Safe (NO FAKES) Act of 2024 would establish federal right to our own voices and likenesses and establish a system to fight back against nonconsensual AI-generated deepfakes and voice clones.

There is nothing more personal than our voice & image – the fundamental and unique elements that identify us and make us who we are. Digital fakes of your persona are inherently harmful, robbing you of control over your identity and image. For artists and other creators, these fakes are also unfair competition that threaten their livelihoods and the creative economy at large.

AI is an exciting new tool, but Congress must address misuses of generative AI that threaten our basic human rights.

The NO FAKES Act will do just that, allowing responsible AI technology to thrive while protecting us from invasive, harmful deepfakes & voice clones.
