The US House Education and Labor Committee will hold a hearing This Morning at 10:15 am EST (Tuesday, February 11) about dangerous legislation that would hurt patients’ access to the doctors they trust. We need you to contact Committee members immediately to urge opposition to the proposal being considered today – the Ban Surprise Billing Act (HR 5800).
Currently, the bill, as written, would create a race to the bottom, driving doctors out-of-network and opening the door for insurance companies to manipulate rates. These unintended consequences would hurt our patients and could limit access to care.
That’s why we need your voice now. We need a proven balanced approach with strong patient protections that includes a meaningful and accessible IDR process between physicians and insurers, so patients and their access to care are protected. The Ban Surprise Billing Act is not that approach.
Now, more than ever, we need doctors like you to send Congress a clear message.
Thank you for taking action!
