Urge Congress to Renew the Biodiesel Tax Incentive Now

The biodiesel industry is asking Congress to renew an important tax policy that expired more than a year ago. In February 2018, Congress retroactively renewed the biodiesel tax incentive – but only for 2017, leaving it expired throughout 2018 and beyond.

On April 4, Rep. Abby Finkenauer (D-IA) and Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) introduced the Biodiesel Tax Credit Extension Act of 2019 (HR 2089), which would extend the credit for 2018 and 2019. The biodiesel and renewable diesel industry, fuel blenders, farmers, renderers and others all rely on the incentive to meet growing demand for clean energy and advanced biofuels.

Congressmembers and Senators continue are urging Congressional leaders to immediately extend the biodiesel tax incentive. Many have written letters on the industry’s behalf; please encourage your elected representatives to join their colleagues in signing one of these letters.

Email, call, or tweet to your Representative and Senators. Tell them it's urgent that they support a multiyear extension of the biodiesel tax incentive as soon as possible.
