Exempt Agricultural Fencing and Trailers from Sales Tax

The Louisiana Cattlemen’s Association has been working closely with state representatives to introduce legislation eliminating the sales tax on fencing equipment and trailers.

House Bill 330 was introduced by State Representative Mike Johnson (Dist. 27) and was amended in committee to allow full exemption of local sales tax and a 2% state sales tax on fencing materials. Next, the bill will go before the House of Representatives floor, then to the Senate, and finally to the Governor's Desk.
