As the 2019 Legislative Session approaches, we are watching closely to see what bills are introduced in the South Carolina legislature. A bill to ratify the ERA was prefiled (introduced prior to the official start of session) by Representative Gilda Cobb-Hunter.
ERA stands for Equal Rights Amendment and it would affirm that the United States Constitution does not allow discrimination based on sex.
Join us in thanking Rep. Gilda Cobb-Hunter for her leadership on the ERA. The women of South Carolina and the United States should be represented in the United States Constitution and guaranteed the right from discrimination based on sex.
Thank you for reaching out to Rep. Gilda Cobb-Hunter.
We'll continue to keep you up-to-date on this and related bills.
