Help Remove a Proposed Tax on Interior Design!

In January 2020, the governor of Rhode Island, Gina Raimundo, put forth her draft of the next budget for the state. This budget includes a provision that would tax "interior design services." IIDA and ASID have been working with interior design advocates in the state to address this issue. "Interior design services" is not defined in Rhode Island, which could create issues about who could be taxed and for what. We are working jointly to educate legislators about interior design and the burden this tax would place on interior designers, particularly those who own their own small business.
