Save TIGER Funding for biking and walking

Please Support TIGER Funding

Please join the League in asking your Senators and Representatives to support full funding for the TIGER program in the FY 2018 and 2019 budgets. This program has helped fund numerous bicycling and walking networks and complete streets projects. It also incentivized states to include biking and walking facilities in larger transportation projects such as bridges, and transit stations.

The TIGER program is a great opportunity for local governments and states to fund multi-modal and multi-jurisdictional projects that are hard to fund with normal transportation funds, such as Vision Zero safety programs, intersection projects that include bicycling and walking safety improvements, and downtown streetscaping.

The funding for the TIGER program is being debated in Congress right now! Congress must pass a budget by March 23rd.

In the 2018 budget, the Senate version includes funding for TIGER but the House version does not. The President’s budget zeroes out TIGER funding in both fiscal year 2018 and 2019!
In February Congress passed a budget deal that includes $20 billion of new funding for infrastructure. We believe some of that funding should go for TIGER.

The funding for the TIGER program is being debated in Congress right now! Please contact your Senators and Representative to fully fund the TIGER program. Enter your information to take action now!

Thank you for encouraging Congress to fund the TIGER transportation program. Please encourage others to act by sharing on social media.
