Tell Congress: Include Immigrant Families in the Stimulus

Right now, Congress is negotiating a stimulus package to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and the damage it’s done to our communities.

But Republican leaders are trying to exclude millions of immigrants because of their immigration status, at the same time that immigrants are on the front lines delivering food, staffing grocery stores and warehouses, and providing vital care services.

All people, regardless of immigration status, must be included in the stimulus:
1) Cash payments must go to all taxpayers, including immigrants who pay using an ITIN (Individual Tax Identification Number).
2) Coronavirus testing and care must be free and accessible to all: Amend Emergency Medicaid to cover Covid-19 costs, so patients get care regardless of immigration status.
3) Supports accessed by immigrants must not be used against them in the Trump administration’s racist "public charge" policy, aka racist wealth test.

Tell Congress: Coronavirus isn’t discriminating based on immigration status. Neither should you. ALL immigrants must be included in the cash payments and free Coronavirus testing and care. And accessing care must never be used against them.

This stimulus can and must be directed to the people who are most directly affected, including those who have lost jobs and hours and front line workers. It must include us all.
