ONE YEAR LATER...WE STILL SAY HER NAME:

Justice for Breonna Taylor!

On June 5th, Breonna Taylor would have turned 28 years old. A birthday that family and friends would be joyously celebrating with her. Instead, they are heart-broken and still seeking justice and accountability for her senseless killing!

In the early morning hours of March 13, 2020, officers John Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove entered Breonna’s apartment using a battering ram on a “no knock” warrant, this allows police to enter without warning or identifying themselves as law enforcement. Moments after entering, they fired several shots striking Breonna (who was sleeping) at least eight times, killing her. It was later determined that Breonna nor her home were the correct targets for their warrant and the person police were actually looking for had already been taken into custody. To date, we still await accountability for the actions of the involved officers and a comprehensive ban on "no knock" warrants that could have prevented this tragedy!

WE WILL honor the life of Breonna Taylor, an award-winning emergency medical technician, by demanding JUSTICE and swift passage of the Justice in Policing Act! This will put measure in place to hold police accountable for use of excessive force and ban "no knock" warrants!
