A bill in the House and Senate would allow hospitals, doctors, nurses, orderlies, and even insurance companies to cite their personal religious beliefs in order to deny a patient care. Religion should never be allowed as a reason to refuse to provide necessary medical care.

However, in a rural area the only available personnel when a pregnant woman needs lifesaving care might be people who cite their personal religious beliefs and refuse to participate. This cannot be allowed.

These bills would reverse that decision and make it much more difficult to restore. Tell your representatives to oppose the Conscience Protection Act in the House and Senate.
