The Chesapeake Bay watershed is home to more than 18 million people and 3,600 species of plants and animals. Unfortunately, the Bay and its rivers and streams are in danger.
Pollution from industry, agriculture, and sprawling development have clogged our waterways for far too long. Crabs, fish, and other Chesapeake critters struggle to survive. And the cost of ensuring clean drinking water for us and future generations continues to grow.
A science-based plan has been put into action to reverse this troubling trend. It's called the Chesapeake Clean Water Blueprint, and it is working. But, it's up to all of us to finish the job for the sake of our health, economy, and way of life.
