Congress continues deliberations surrounding the 2018 Farm Bill, which addresses many long-standing issues important to farmers, including:
- Improvements to dairy and commodity programs.
- Protection of key federal crop insurance features.
- Proposals to streamline conservation programs, the specialty crop program and research & development programs.
The legislation also recognizes the hardships farmers are facing due to the current farm economy.
Farm Bureau staff will continue working with representatives and senators on a bipartisan bill that can be signed into law to ensure farmers nationwide are able to continue providing safe, affordable and abundant food supply.
Now is the time for county Farm Bureau members from across the state to reach out to Senator Stabenow and Peters and tell them to support this important bill for Michigan agriculture!
