Representatives Gerry Connolly (D-VA-11) and Sam Graves (R-MO-6) have introduced House Resolution 54 (H. Res. 54) directing the Postal Service to take all appropriate measures to continue 6-day mail delivery. Representatives Connolly and Graves have introduced a similar resolution, successfully, in the 114th, and 115th Congress, as well.
This is an important step in protecting mail service standards. In the last two Congresses, Representatives Connolly and Graves have earned the support of passage proof majorities, helping secure 6-day delivery and ensure the renewal of language requiring it in annual government funding legislation. For Americans everywhere, 6-day delivery is a critical service function of the Postal Service and is essential in meeting consumer service expectations, especially in a business enviornment where 7 day delivery for parcels is becoming increasingly common.
