S.997 and H.5137 have been introduced in the SC Legislature to provide paid family leave for state employees.
If this bill passes, employees would receive twelve weeks of paid leave due to the birth, adoption or foster care of a child.
Paid leave provides people of all genders with the ability to work and care for their families.
Paid leave is a necessity for a healthy and functioning society. Health benefits of this policy include: a decreased incidence of low birthweight and preterm births, increased breast-feeding, reduced rates of hospitalizations among infants, and improved maternal health.
Join us in asking your legislators to support these bills and sign on as a cosponsor.
