On Oct. 23, 2019, CMS begans a new initiative whereby skilled nursing providers who are cited for abuse will be marked with a special icon on Nursing Home Compare. This icon might be misleading to consumers as it does not provide adequate information about the citation.
Now is the time to take action and tell CMS Administrator Seema Verma that she must reverse this harmful decision. CMS needs to work with providers to develop a better survey system and provide more accurate information to consumers that are looking for care for a loved one.
