Take action to keep God out of Tennessee schools!

Please take action today to keep the motto “In God We Trust” out of Tennessee schools.

Two state subcommittees are considering identical bills to enact the "National Motto in the Classroom Act," which “requires each local education agency to display the national motto, ‘In God We Trust,’ in a prominent location in each school.”

Tell lawmakers in the house and senate to keep religion out of our public schools, where a third of students now identify as nonreligious, by voting against HB 2368 and SB 2661. Use our new automated system to contact the state House Education Administration and Planning Committee and state Senate Education Committee.

Hello, as a concerned Tennessee resident I urge you to strongly oppose the bill to put “In God We Trust” in our secular public schools.

This clear religious goal is anathema to the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and marginalizes the 36 percent of young Americans who identify as nonreligious. These students do not trust in any gods and no message to do otherwise should be expressed to them by their government.

Please stand up for the First Amendment by voting against the "National Motto in the Classroom Act."
