Instead of funding comprehensive sex education, Congress proposed increasing funds for ineffective abstinence-only-until-marriage programs. These abstinence-only-until-marriage programs deny young people information and resources they need to make healthy decisions regarding sexuality and relationships. Instead, they shame young people who choose to be sexually active and ignore the needs of LGBTQ students altogether. These programs are ineffective and harmful -- young people need more than simply "don't have sex"!
Tell Congress that young people deserve better than abstinence-only in our schools. Ask them to fund ACTUAL sex education and #StopAbOnly!
Thank you for taking the time to let Congress know that young people deserve access to sexual health education that doesn't simply tell them not to have sex.
