URGENT: There is a bill on the House floor intended to slash EPA funding by $500 million. Following the devastation of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma and the raging wildfires in the west, the need for disaster relief is unparalleled. From assessing the impacts of natural disasters to cleaning up flooded Superfund sites to monitoring life threatening bacteria in our flooded water systems, the EPA plays a key role in disaster response. The agency is also critical for cutting the pollution that is making climate-fueled extreme weather events more severe.
We must urge our elected officials to ensure that the EPA is adequately resourced to respond to and avert climate-fueled disasters. Please join thousands of LCV members in demanding that the House vote down this bill and oppose any cuts to EPA’s budget!
