Our health care delivery system needs improvements to better serve seniors with chronic illnesses and ensure access to vital home care services in rural states and communities.

78 million Baby Boomers are approaching retirement and there are not enough physicians to care for them all. Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Physicians’ Assistants (PA) will play critical roles in the delivery of our nation’s health care. 

Despite this expanded role of PAs and NPs, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) continues to prohibit non-physician health professionals from certifying home health services for Medicare beneficiaries. Read more...
