America needs nurses! Support Title VIII funding in FY18

Dear Official,

I'm joining with ANA advocates, members and nurses across the country to urge you as my representative in Congress to support $266 million in funding in the FY 2019 budget for the Title VIII nursing workforce development programs.

This is an issue that matters to my family, and others in our district concerned about the future of healthcare. Title VIII funding plays a critically important role in recruiting the next generation of nurses, addressing the faculty shortages facing the profession, and ensuring we are building a highly trained workforce that can meet the challenges of a fast-growing and evolving health care system. Having a sufficient nursing workforce to meet the demands of a highly diverse and aging population is essential to improving the health status of the nation and reducing costs.

Title VIII is an investment that will ensure America can meet our mounting health care needs for a strong nursing workforce. I call on you to support nurses like me, and defend Title VIII funding in the federal budget for the coming year.
