Congressman James McGovern (D-MA-2) and Congressman Walter Jones (R-NC-3) re-established the bipartisan Home Health Caucus in the 114th Congress to galvanize Congressional support for advancing the role of home health in delivering quality, cost-effective health care services to our nation's seniors and disabled citizens.

They have invited their House colleagues to join them, but we need your help to expand the membership of the Caucus. By encouraging your Representatives to join the Home Health Caucus, we will increase awareness about the importance of home health and assist the advancement of legislative priorities that would benefit home health providers and patients.

A congressional 'caucus' is formed by Members of Congress to raise awareness and address legislative issues pertaining to a specific topic or issue. Members of Congress can join an established caucus in order to demonstrate their support for its issues and legislative goals. Congressman James McGovern (D-MA-2) and Congressman Walter Jones (R-NC-3) have re-established the Home Health Caucus to advance the role of home health in our nation's health care delivery system.  By joining the caucus, you can demonstrate support for the patients who rely on home health care and raise awareness about the importance of home health access.

Approximately 10,000 members of the Baby Boomer generation will retire every day over the next 20 years.  The demographics of our nation are changing, with more and more seniors demanding access to care in their homes.  More than three million nurses, therapists, aides and other caregivers provide in-home services each year to some 12 million Americans who are infirm, chronically ill, disabled or dying.  Home health is leading efforts to innovate in technology and communications in order to reduce costs and improve patient care.  As a result, home health will increasingly be the center of delivering high quality and cost-effective care.
