Ask Your Representative to Support Continued Funding for the NHSC

Representatives Chris Stewart (R-UT) and G.K. Butterfield (D-NC) are circulating a letter asking the House Energy & Commerce Committee to support funding for the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) program.

Funding for the NHSC program was last extended in 2015 and is set to expire October 1. We need every Member of Congress who supports the NHSC to sign the Stewart/Butterfield letter. The future of the NHSC hangs in the balance.

Unless Congress acts, thousands of NHSC providers, facing a huge debt burden, will have no choice but to leave the areas of the country that need them most, in order to practice where they can make enough to pay off their student loans. Millions of people – insured and uninsured – will find themselves with no one in their communities to provide their health care.

Email and/or tweet your Representative today to let them know how important the NHSC is to your community and urge them to sign the Stewart/Butterfield letter today!
